Ramen Keisuke Tori King is but one of the three ramen stalls opened by 2011 Tokyo Ramen Champion, Keisuke Takada. This shop in particular specializes in chicken based broth. When we arrived the place was pretty empty and so we were served rather promptly.
Some aspects which made this experience difference from eating at other ramen stores was: (1) They give girls pink cups and boys blue cups; (2) Everyone gets an ordering form and are to write their names and orders on them so that when your ramen is served, they can personally hand you your noodles; (3) They have free flow beans sprouts and hardboiled eggs!
I ordered the Black Spicy Ramen with Flavoured Egg ($14.90). The broth wasn’t too bad though I can’t say I prefer it over tonkotsu (pork) broth and as the name suggests, the soup was also very peppery, like enough pepperiness to choke you. I don’t know if that was what I envisioned when I ordered this. The piece of grilled chicken thigh that comes with the ramen is huge and tasty and cooked really well. It also does a lot more for your hunger as compared to two slices of chashu usually served in ramen shops, and so I would say the ramen here was well worth its price.
